This is another image that is a favourite for several reasons, not least of all being that it was taken at home, off the back of the Bluff at the end of Thirteenth Beach, Barwon Heads. The light was absolutely stunning, as a warm day came to a close towards the end of a late summer’s day. The beginnings of a storm was gathering heavily to the west, and for a short while an epic orange glow burst through and lit the fun sized waves, and I swum and shot until it was too dark to continue. There is something special about these local sessions, coming in from the surf, salty and content, knowing that home, dinner and a celebratory beer are all waiting just up the road. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I feel very lucky to live here!
All prints in this collection are limited to no more than 5 individual editions, each will be delivered personally signed and numbered. The paper of choice for these editions is Hahnemüle Bamboo, the world’s first fine art inkjet paper made from 90% bamboo fibres. Environmentally friendly and sustainable, this paper has a soft, lightly textured felt structure and sensual feel. Bamboo is acid and lignin-free, and meets the most precise requirements in terms of age resistance.
For canvas I’ve chosen Ilford Fine Art Galicia, a cotton/polyester blend, designed to deliver the best in photographic digital prints. It is a robust stretchable canvas with an excellent colour gamut and a high resistance to cracking, whilst also boasting superior framing performance.
