5/5 ‘Animosus’ prints remaining.
This image is one of my favourites from a summer getaway in Portland, in Victoria’s far south west. The ocean was very much alive, in a fearsome manner, and was not in the mood to tolerate surfers. The swell was truly massive, and I sat for hours upon hours, watching in awe, finding it difficult to put my camera down. I had been perched atop one of Victoria’s tallest cliffs, and as the sun lowered to the south, directly out to sea, the enormous explosion far below became backlit, creating some beautiful and unique perspectives. Due to my position directly above the oceanic madness, it almost appears as though the sea is vertical in this shot, like a backdrop rising up rather than gradually fading towards the horizon, whilst violent whitewater rises skyward into the light in the foreground. I simply adore wild oceans, and for me, this image epitomises exactly why I keep chasing such conditions.
All prints in this collection are limited to no more than 5 individual editions, each will be delivered personally signed and numbered. Printed by the ever meticulous fine art laboratory, Aeterna, Framed locally using handmade and sustainable timbers. All paper prints are framed behind non-reflective UV glass, and encased in foam core matte, personally selected to enhance each image for a stunning final look, ready to hang on your wall. Canvas prints are finished in beautiful and timeless float frames, after having been sealed to ensure quality and longevity, so that your print will last comfortably for at least several lifetimes.
The paper of choice for these editions is Hahnemüle Bamboo, the world’s first fine art inkjet paper made from 90% bamboo fibres. Environmentally friendly and sustainable, this paper has a soft, lightly textured felt structure and sensual feel. Bamboo is acid and lignin-free, and meets the most precise requirements in terms of age resistance.
For canvas I’ve chosen Ilford Fine Art Galicia, a cotton/polyester blend, designed to deliver the best in photographic digital prints. It is a robust stretchable canvas with an excellent colour gamut and a high resistance to cracking, whilst also boasting superior framing performance.
